In the Academy boys and girls ages 11-15 years of age study the fundamentals of performance driving via training with motorized karts. Though this experiential learning is in motorsports, it is not just about competition. What matters is individual skill improvements such as self-control, communication, decision-making and perseverance. Our curriculum is aligned with Middle and High School academic standards particularly in science and math--part of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) related subjects. Through partnership with the schools and community-based organizations, NXG has instructed hundreds of Central Indiana students.
The Lucas Oil/NXG Youth Motorsports Academy consists of educational driving programs scheduled between April to September. Classes are typically conducted over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Each class serves up to 16 student participants. Both classroom and on-track driving activities are included in each Academy class.
